ABOUT THE TEACHER
Yoko Hudspeth
Yoko first studied fashion in Osaka and began her career as a fashion illustrator before moving into textile design. After living in London, Shanghai, and Singapore, she decided to pursue her long-time passion for oil painting. Alongside teaching, she continues to paint and develop her own artistic practice, creating original works inspired by Japanese culture, people, nature, and everyday life.
Yoko has been teaching art and crafts to children and adults for over 13 years. She especially loves working with children and believes that everyone has their own unique creativity waiting to be discovered. She also has a great love for animals, which often inspire her creative work.
A mother of two, Yoko now lives in Tokyo and officially opened KOKO Art Class in the heart of Nakameguro in May 2016.
"Everyone has their own unique creativity — my role is simply to help bring it out."
